About nerve pain care at our clinic

Burning, tingling, electric shocks or numbness can be signs that a nerve is irritated. Some nerve pain comes from the spine and may suit chiropractic care; much of it does not. Knowing the difference is the first priority.

  • Many causes. Nerve symptoms can relate to the spine, diabetes, vitamin levels and more.
  • Careful screening. Reflexes, sensation and strength are checked at your first visit.
  • GP partnership. We refer when symptoms point beyond the musculoskeletal system.

Travelling from Prospect

With major roads such as the Great Western Highway and the M4 nearby, Prospect residents often travel through Blacktown for work, shopping and appointments, so a Blacktown chiropractor can fit naturally into an existing routine.

When to see someone else first

New or spreading numbness, weakness or pins and needles should be checked promptly; your chiropractor will refer you to your GP when that is more appropriate.

Questions

Nerve pain: common questions

We do not have a clinic in Prospect. Patients from Prospect visit our only clinic at 118 Bungarribee Rd, Blacktown NSW 2148.

It can be, but it can also come from the elbow or wrist, or from medical causes. Your chiropractor will test the neck and the arm to narrow it down and refer you if needed.

Peripheral neuropathy from conditions like diabetes needs medical management. Chiropractic care does not treat the underlying cause.

Only sometimes. If your chiropractor thinks testing would help clarify the cause, they will suggest you discuss it with your GP.
