About back pain care at our clinic

Back pain is one of the most common reasons people visit a chiropractor, and one of the most common reasons Australians miss work. Most episodes are not caused by serious damage, but they can be painful and worrying.

  • Usually not serious. Most back pain is 'non-specific', meaning no single dangerous cause is found.
  • Keep moving. Staying gently active generally helps more than rest.
  • Screen for red flags. Your assessment checks for signs that need medical care.

Questions

Back pain: common questions

We do not have a clinic in Bungarribee. Patients from Bungarribee visit our only clinic at 118 Bungarribee Rd, Blacktown NSW 2148.

Either is a reasonable first contact for everyday back pain. If you are unwell, have red-flag symptoms or need medication, see your GP. Our chiropractors will refer you if something needs medical attention.

Most back pain does not require imaging. Your chiropractor will only recommend it if your history or examination suggests it would change how your care is managed.

Many acute episodes improve significantly within a few weeks. Pain that keeps returning or lasts longer than about three months benefits from a more structured plan.
