Schofields station to Blacktown, then on foot
The clinic is about 13 km by road from the middle of Schofields. One direct route follows Railway Terrace and Burdekin Road. By rail, Schofields station is on the Richmond line and is served by T1 Western Line and T5 Cumberland Line trains. Services to Schofields and Richmond run from Blacktown, so trains from Schofields station stop at Blacktown. Bus route 734 runs between Riverstone and Blacktown via Schofields. From Blacktown Station, the walk to 118 Bungarribee Rd is about a kilometre.
Planning around Schofields’ young families
Schofields had a population of 15,213 people at the 2021 Census, with a median age of 32. Children aged 0 to 14 made up 28.2% of the population, and couple families with children made up 64.7% of families. If you are booking around school hours, weekday sessions run from 3pm to 7pm and Saturday sessions from 8am to 12pm. You don’t need a GP referral. The first visit takes about an hour, the second about 30 minutes and regular visits about 15 minutes, which helps when planning the week.
Schofield’s Siding and the 2020 boundary change
The suburb is named after John Schofield, a former convict who bought land in the area in 1845. The railway platform built on his land was known as Schofield’s Siding. Schofields was also home to the former Schofields Aerodrome and HMAS Nirimba, an area that is now the suburb of Nirimba Fields. That suburb, along with Tallawong, was created when the Schofields boundaries changed in November 2020. Schofields Village Shopping Centre, completed in mid-2021, sits across the road from the station you would use to reach Blacktown.
