Growing suburbs, growing demand for local services
When a suburb grows quickly, health services can take time to catch up. Many new residents in the north-west look south to Blacktown for appointments while local options develop. Most of these suburbs are in the City of Blacktown, with Rouse Hill shared with The Hills Shire.
We are happy to be one of the options you consider, and there is no obligation to continue care if you later find something closer.
Who we commonly see from the north-west
The north-west has many young families and commuters. Common reasons for a visit include:
- Back and neck pain from lifting, carrying and feeding young children
- Pregnancy-related back and pelvic discomfort
- Neck pain and headaches from long commutes
- Physical jobs in trades, logistics and retail
- Returning to exercise after a break
Planning your trip
Most patients from the north-west drive south towards Blacktown. Parking is available at the clinic, and disabled ramp access helps if you are pregnant, sore or bringing an older family member. Use the directions link for a live route.
If you are bringing young children, mention it when booking so reception can help plan your visit.
Your first appointment
No GP referral is needed. Your initial consultation takes about an hour, your Report of Findings about 30 minutes, and regular visits around 15 minutes. Bring any scans, reports and a list of medications. Your chiropractor will explain whether chiropractic care is suitable, and refer you elsewhere when it is not.
Looking after yourself in a busy season of life
Moving house, starting a family or taking on a longer commute can all change how your body feels. Small habits help: lift children and shopping close to your body, change position often if you sit in traffic, keep up some regular activity you enjoy, and protect your sleep where you can.
If aches and pains are not settling after a week or two, keep returning, or are affecting your sleep and work, an assessment can help clarify what is going on. Seek urgent medical care instead if pain comes with fever, numbness, weakness or loss of bladder or bowel control.
