From Plumpton to Bungarribee Road
The clinic is about 11 km by road from the middle of Plumpton. One direct route follows the Westlink M7 and the Great Western Highway before reaching Bungarribee Road. For the train, Rooty Hill station in the neighbouring suburb of Rooty Hill is served by the T1 Western Line, and Blacktown station is on that same line. If you’d rather leave the car at home, bus route 756 runs between Mount Druitt and Blacktown Station via Plumpton and Woodcroft. From Blacktown Station, the clinic is about a kilometre on foot.
Fitting visits around Plumpton family life
Couple families with children made up 61.7% of families in Plumpton at the 2021 Census, and 22.4% of residents were aged 0 to 14. With school pick-ups in the mix, the 3pm to 7pm weekday session and Saturday mornings from 8am to 12pm may be easier to plan around. On Census day 2021, 49.2% of employed residents drove to work, though the Census was held while NSW was under COVID-19 stay-at-home restrictions. Parking is available at the clinic. Allow about an hour for a first visit and about 30 minutes for the second.
Plumpton Park, Woodstock and the 1889 post office
Long-time locals may know Plumpton was first called Woodstock. It took its current name, borrowed from an English coursing venue, after a post office opened in 1889. Plumpton Park, in the centre of the suburb, is a recreation and conservation reserve with remnant Cumberland Plain woodland and a constructed wetland. On the northern edge, HomeCo Plumpton Marketplace has a Woolworths supermarket and a Big W store. If Saturday is your shopping day there, keep in mind the clinic’s Saturday session runs from 8am to 12pm and there are no Sunday hours.
